Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 May 2026
Animo Group Ltd (“Animo”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website or engage us for recruitment services, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
This policy is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Animo Group Ltd is a UK-registered company providing specialist recruitment services for AI, machine learning, data science and analytics roles in sport and SportsTech. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Animo Group Ltd is the data controller.
Information we collect
From website visitors. Technical data such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referral source, pages viewed and time on site, collected through standard server logs and (where applicable) third-party analytics tools. If you contact us by email or LinkedIn, we collect the contents of those communications.
From candidates. If you apply for a role through us, share your CV, or are introduced to us by another party, we may hold your name and contact details, right-to-work status, career history, compensation expectations, notes from our conversations with you, and feedback from clients about your candidacy.
From clients. If your organisation engages us, we may hold contact details for the people we work with, hiring requirements and role specifications, the commercial terms of our engagement, and notes from briefings and search updates.
How we use your information
We use your data to:
- Deliver recruitment services we have been engaged to provide
- Match candidates with relevant roles and clients with relevant candidates
- Maintain accurate records of our communications and engagements
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
- Improve the website and the service we offer
We do not sell your data. We do not share it outside the limited circle described below.
Lawful basis for processing
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests — for most candidate and client interactions, where processing is necessary for our recruitment work and does not override your rights and freedoms
- Contract — to deliver services we have been engaged to provide
- Consent — where you have explicitly opted in (for example, to be added to a longlist for future searches)
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose data by law
You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Sharing your information
We may share your data with:
- Clients — when introducing you as a candidate, with your knowledge
- Service providers — email, document storage, hosting and similar tools who process data on our behalf under written contracts
- Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers and similar where reasonably necessary
- Regulators or authorities — where required by law
Cookies
This website uses a minimal set of cookies for essential functionality and (where enabled) anonymised analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure; if we became aware of a breach affecting your data we would notify you in line with our legal obligations.
How long we keep your data
- Candidate and client records: typically held for the duration of our active engagement plus seven years thereafter, in line with our regulatory and tax obligations
- Marketing-only data: removed on request or after two years of inactivity, whichever is sooner
- Server logs: typically rotated within 30 days
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing on legitimate-interest grounds
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability where applicable
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards (typically Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent) to ensure your data remains protected.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to active candidates and clients directly.
